Out and About
Maintaining mobility is important for independence. Mobility loss, whether due to aging or illness can impact on people and their families and caregivers. Some interventions or strategies, such as everyday activity and social connections, may be able to support mobility later in life. We work on studies related to community mobility.
About UsPeople & Places
Exploring Community Mobility
We aim to understand the connection between people and their environment (places).
The Social Ecological Model provides a way to look the many influences on health outcomes, recognizing the interplay between personal behaviors, interpersonal relationships, community settings, and public policies.
We look for ways to support older people’s mobility and (re)engage in more everyday activity as a way to reduce prolonged periods of sitting (e.g., watching TV) and encourage more social engagement in the community.
