A Hip Fracture Recovery Guide for Patients & Families
A hip fracture is a life changing event. It is the role of your healthcare team to give you the best care possible while you are in the hospital but what about when it is time to go home? For many, it can be a challenging time for the person recovering and for caregivers who want to provide the best help possible.
As part of the BC Hip Fracture Redesign Project, FReSH Start represents physiotherapists, nurses, surgeons, and patient partners to inform this manual to assist people and their families who are on the road to recovery.

- Best practices for home recovery including nutrition, safety, and sleep
- Preventing further falls and injuries
- How and when to resume activities

The Fresh Start Manual Is Available In Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish and French for BC Users and in Punjabi and Simplified Chinese for Out Of Province Users.
