About This Community

The city of Surrey is located on the traditional territories of Salish Peoples, including the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) First Nations. It is a large and diverse geographical area, and Surrey city is one of the fastest growing cities.

Surrey has many different types of amenities including a hospital, outdoor and recreational facilities, and shops and cafes. The program has therapeutic arts activities. The area around the social prescribing program is considered very walkable with good transit, and some bike infrastructure. Older adults make up about 15% of the population in Surrey.
