Gabriola island is located in the Salish Sea about 5 kilometers off the coast of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. It is located on the territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
This community is located within BC’s Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Local Resources
The island has an active arts community and an abundance of natural resources to enjoy the natural green (trees) and blue (water, sky) space. This Centre has fitness programs, day programs, arts-based and cognitive focused activities, and a gardening program. The area around this centre is considered as car-dependent but somewhat bikeable. Just under half of people in this community are older adults.
