FReSH Start

Project Published:

We have completed several studies using different research methods to better understand older people’s experience with hip fracture recovery.

Exploring

Fracture Recovery for Seniors at Home Online

This resource was developed over several years with input from older adults, caregivers, friends, and health care providers. The process included consultations and feedback to ensure it is practical and relevant for those affected by hip fractures.

FReSH Start was created in response to genuine concerns raised by people who had a hip fracture, along with their families and caregivers. Discussions and interviews revealed that many people perceived a lack of information and advice for managing recovery and everyday life after experiencing a hip fracture.

Seeing these gaps, we worked with a large team to develop a resource to support people during the recovery process.
